Citi continues risk advisory and structured products build-up

Citigroup has made two hires as it builds its foreign exchange risk advisory and structured products teams in London. Both teams sit within the bank's value-added services and products group (Vasp), which it established a year ago.

The bank has hired Michele Ghidoni as a vice-president in the structuring team, reporting to Stephane Knauf, New York-based global head of structuring. Ghidoni is responsible for providing customised structured solutions for European corporates and institutions, and creating new ideas based on Citigroup's market views. Previously, he worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as a structurer in forex and commodities.

Joakim Lidbark starts this week as a vice-president in Citigroup’s corporate risk advisory team. As part of the team, Lidbark is consulting on different aspects of risk management policy and strategy.

He joins from Bank of America, where he analysed foreign exchange hedging strategies through historical back testing, as well as simulation techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation. Lidbark also developed methodologies to determine optimal hedge ratios and hedging instruments. At Citigroup, he reports to Didier Hirigoyen, global head of corporate risk advisory in New York.
