CNOOC and Chesapeake announce second shale deal

Chinese E&P company CNOOC has announced a $1.3 billion deal to purchase a 33.3% stake in some of US producer Chesapeake's shale assets

The deal will give CNOOC a stake in Chesapeake’s 800,000 net oil and natural gas leasehold acres in the Denver-Julesburg (DJ) and Powder River Basins in northeast Colorado and southeast Wyoming.
