Bear Energy's purchase of Williams' power assets
In November 2007 Bear Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of US financial services company Bear Stearns, completed a $496 million purchase of the power assets of Williams Power Company (WPC). The deal brought substantial benefits to both parties and its scale and speed of execution were impressive. It allowed Williams to refocus its attention and resources on its core competencies in gas transport
