US pension fund trustees shy away from complexity

According to a recent report released by KPMG Asset Management, US pension fund trustees are still relatively uneasy about hedge funds. "In our interviews with pension funds and their consultants, one message came through clearly: trustees need more education and information than they currently have," the report says.

Such uneasiness was also applied to other liability-driven investments and structured products. The use of leverage and opacity are some of the issues troubling pension fund
