Citi taps Barclays vet to head euro swaps trading

Masson bolsters US bank's rates unit at a critical juncture for the market

Citi has hired a new head of euro interest rate swaps trading from rival Barclays in London.

Leo Masson, who joined the US bank last month, spent more than 12 years at Barclays as a senior derivatives trader within its European fixed income market-making unit, specialising in short-end euro swaps.

A Citi spokesperson declined to comment on the appointment.
