Threadneedle capitalises on Ucits

Threadneedle Investment is the latest fund manager to tap the Ucits-III market by making its Ucits-compliant Absolute Return Bond Fund available in Germany. Its top priority is to develop more actively managed Ucits-compliant products that can offer investors a long-term return

Threadneedle Investments is one of the UK's largest constant proportion portfolio insurance products providers through the Zurich-owned Sterling Protected Profits funds. But the fund manager is also tapping the Ucits III market by making its Absolute Return Bond Fund, launched in the UK in October last year, available in Germany.

According to Lothar Mentel (pictured), London-based head of product development at Threadneedle, the Ucits-compliant product is a euro version of the Absolute Return
