Nymex drops eNymex, plans to expand web-based Access trading

The New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) has dropped plans to launch its internet trading platform eNymex. Instead, the exchange plans to expand Nymex Access, its existing electronic system.

A spokeswoman for the exchange says the decision to scrap eNymex does not represent a change of strategy. “All the products we were planning for eNymex will instead be rolled out on the Access system”, she says. “Basically, we have incorporated all aspects of our strategy into developing a web
