The credit market – Still many opportunities


Despite the recent credit spread normalisation, there are still many opportunities in credit markets. Investors could add new structures on bonds by changing coupons, adding leverage or using bond repack. But, recently, investors have been more and more interested in credit indices. They allow investors to have exposure on the Asian, US or European credit markets and to express their bullish or bearish sentiments on credit. Today, there is a set of available products that Societe Generale can provide on credit indices – from the simplest ones, such as a credit-linked notes on index- and capital-protected zero-coupon structures to realise capital appreciation, to more exotic solutions such as credit tranches and hybrids.
