iShares, the exchange-traded funds arm of global fund manager BlackRock, has launched its first physically backed exchange-traded commodities (ETCs) in the UK. The products are aimed at institutional investors and offer exposure to precious metals.

The ETCs are non-Ucits-compliant metal-linked debt securities that provide exposure to the performance of gold, silver, platinum and palladium, allowing investors to trade individual securities in the same way ETFs can be traded without the need to
