The interviews for the fifth annual Structured Products Americas awards will begin on Monday, March 8. Completed entries (see below for how to apply) must reach the editorial team by Friday, March 5 at the latest.

The awards have been created to recognise excellence and innovation in the manufacture and distribution of structured products. The house awards in the Americas, Canada and Latin America will be judged on the innovation of a structurer or distributor across the relevant region.

The US structurer award is open to banks that manufacture structured products. The US distributor award will be decided between those institutions that distribute products, whether independent firms or brokerage arms of banks.

The Structured Products house of the year, Americas award will be judged on the basis of a product structurer’s innovation in the US, Canada and Latin America.

Specialist awards recognise innovations by companies in a particular core function within the categories of index innovation, technology innovation, exchange and law firm Both the index and technology awards are open to specialist providers as well as banks. This year, a new category for exchange-traded funds has been introduced, to recognise this rapidly growing investment class. Pitches from any company which constructs and lists ETFs in the Americas will be considered. All pitch documents and subsequent interviews will be treated as on the record.

The awards will be announced in the May issue of Structured Products and presented at a dinner during the Structured Products Americas conference on the evening of May 6 in the Biltmore Hotel, Coral Gables-Miami.

Application process

All applicants should complete a questionnaire specific to each category, detailing their expertise and achievements in the relevant area over the past 12 months. To request a copy of the questionnaire, please email the editor, Richard Jory, at richard.jory@incisivemedia.com, specifying which categories you would like to pitch for. There is no limit to the number of categories that can be applied for. All completed questionnaires must be received by Friday, March 5.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by Monday, March 8 to arrange interviews. Awards meetings or telephone interviews should be limited to 30 minutes per category for which you are pitching, with a maximum time of two hours if pitching for more than one award.

We intend to conduct all interviews – either in person or by phone – between Monday, March 8 and Friday, March 26.
