HSBC launches Climate Change range from proprietary index

HSBC is creating a range of structured products based around its Global Climate Change 100 index, to be targeted at investors looking for thematic and strategic investments.

The index comprises 100 of the most liquid companies selected from the 300 strong Global Climate Change benchmark index, launched by the bank in September. The benchmark index aims to reflect the stock performance of companies best placed to profit from climate change, such as those focused on emission reduction.

"Investors are recognising the importance of climate change and are showing interest in companies that seek to address the impact,” said Steven Phan, global head of structured fund
