The AA, Britain's best-known roadside breakdown recovery company, increased the scope of its financial services department in April with a structured product launch. Patrick Fletcher speaks to Lloyd East about the company's designs on the industry

Non-traditional providers of financial services are nothing new in the UK. But although companies such as Tesco, Marks & Spencer and Virgin have been offering credit cards and insurance products for many years, savings and investments are a relatively new venture.
