European High Yield Association merges with BMA

The European High Yield Association (EHYA) is merging its operations with the Bond Market Association’s (BMA) European branch in London. This merger is expected to be effective January 1 2006.

"This is a significant step for the EHYA, providing it with a full time professional staff and strengthening its efforts with the benefit of the regulatory and lobbying resources of the BMA in both London and New York," said Bryant Edwards, chairman of the EHYA and a corporate partner at law firm Latham & Watkins.

Established in 2001, the EHYA focuses on helping the development of the European junk bond market and related leveraged finance projects. Its members consist of high yield underwriters, investors, issuers, fund managers, private equity firms, rating agencies, and legal and accounting firms.
