International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA)

An international organisation founded to ensure the safe and efficient operation of derivatives markets to facilitate effective risk management for all users of derivative products. ISDA is known for its master agreements and other standardised documentation that is widely used in international derivatives markets, including energy. Among its other activities it also acts as an umbrella body for industry-wide initiatives, such as Financial Products Mark-up Language (FpML).
