Free-on-board (FOB)

Under an FOB contract, the seller provides the crude oil, oil product or liquefied natural gas (LNG) at a lifting installation, so that all loading costs to put the commodity on board a carrier have been paid, but the buyer takes responsibility for shipping and freight insurance.
