Mandatory bundling will damage trading in European gas, say firms

Capacity Allocation Mechanism network code could restrict gas trade at physical hubs and interconnection points

Energy companies say the mandatory bundling of natural gas capacity contracts under new European Union (EU) rules could impair liquidity across the continent's gas market.

The Capacity Allocation Mechanism (CAM) network code is set to be implemented in November 2015 and will be the first EU gas network code. The EU network codes are part of an effort to unify the European natural gas market
