The global voluntary carbon markets (VCMs) are entering a new era of higher standards, tighter regulation and increasing scrutiny. 

“What we’ve seen in the last 12 to 18 months is tightening regulation and standards. We have stronger guidance now from voluntary standards bodies, as well as increased regulator and policy-maker attention to carbon markets,” says Natalia Beales, head of carbon at SCB
