Corporate treasurers and institutional investors have had a lot to deal with during the past year. First they had to restructure problematic derivatives trades, which had gone awry for both economic and counterparty reasons following the collapse of Lehman Brothers on September 15, 2008, and now they are focusing on how to better manage their balance sheets in preparation of an economic recovery. 

The latter trend is taking place alongside a gradual return of investor risk appetite
