Simplicity and breadth of coverage have consolidated Goldman’s position as a leader in non-energy commodity derivatives products

In its 2004 annual report, Goldman Sachs highlighted commodities as a major driver of the 31% year-on-year rise in annual net revenues of its fixed-income, currencies and commodities trading division. Derivatives end-users Risk spoke to praised Goldman’s product range. Dwight Anderson, manager of Ospraie Fund – a $1 billion hedge fund in New York – says the breadth of commodities products Goldman offers is impressive. “It’s definitely one of their competitive advantages,” he adds.
