Vasilios Plakandaras holds a PhD in machine learning applications in economics from the Department of Economics of the Democritus University of Thrace, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. His research interests include applied macroeconomic and finance applications, risk assessment and studies in the intersection of economics to other research fields. He has published his work in Journal of Forecasting, Applied Economics, International Review of Finance and Economics, Economic Modelling, Empirical Economics, Economics Letters, International Journal of Finance and Economics and others.
