Elísio Brandão was born in Arouca, Portugal, in 1953. He received his PhD degree in Finance, in 1988, and his MSc in Finance, in 1983, from the University of Paris IX-Dauphine, France, and his BSc in Economics, in 1978, from the School of Economics and Management (FEP) of the University of Porto. He is Full Professor in Finance, since 2003, at the School of Economics and Management, FEP.UP, University of Porto, and at Porto Business School (PBS). He has also a long experience as Top Director of enterprises and banks. His main research interests are Corporate Finance, Restructuring, M&A, Default, Credit risk and Taxation.
