A.P.F. Atman is an Invited professor (ESPCI-Paris-2008 and 2013 “Chair Total”) and senior researcher laureate in the “Research in Paris” project (Mairie de Paris- 2010). Currently, he has a Full Professor position at Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG) and is a fellow of the National Institute of Science and Tecnology - Complex Systems (INCT-SC). He is the leader of the research group on Studies on Complex Systems at CEFET-MG, and has interests in interdisciplinary subjects in Physics, including Statistical Mechanics, Complex Systems, Mechanics, Elasticity and Rheology, Biological Motivated Problems, Non-extensive Thermodynamics and Econophysics. He has expertise in advising graduate, masters and PhD students, and has collaborations with many researchers in these areas. He has a Physics Degree, a Masters in Physics and a Ph.D. in Physics, all from UFMG, as well as a Post-Doc at Université de Paris VII and UFMG.

Visibility graph combined with information theory: an estimator of stock market efficiency
In this paper, the authors use information theory quantifiers to analyze the graphs generated by the VG method as applied to the return rate time series of stock markets from different countries.
