About the course
Amid growing climate concerns and the emergence of new regulation, there is a critical need for effective climate and ESG risk management within South Africa’s financial sector. This course is specifically designed to address this need, equipping participants with the knowledge to manage transition risks, including strategies for sourcing, processing and validating data.
Participants will explore key reporting standards such as those from the JSE and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures, gaining an understanding of their practical implications.
Emphasising hands-on implementation, this course guides attendees in integrating climate risks with other financial risks, while addressing the unique challenges faced by institutions of different sizes.
Additionally, the course introduces climate stress-testing, incorporating insights from the Bank of England’s 2021 climate stress test.
