Hometrack perseveres with automated valuation plans

Hometrack, the UK's biggest provider of automated valuation models (AVMs), is establishing what it believes would be the first international benchmark for AVM confidence levels and reliability.

But as the US subprime crisis and its contagion is felt across the globe, lenders' use of technology, and whether a return to more manual processes is needed, has also come under the spotlight. US lenders have been well-known to depend on AVMs to value properties, even on high LTV cases.
