Hamich leaves Stoxx to look for opportunities

Lars Hamich is leaving Stoxx, the pan-European index provider, after 11 years with parent company DowJones Indexes. Hamich previously worked for Deutsche Börse as a product manager where he was the Dow Jones representative and developer of the DowJones indexes for the European market. He was appointed managing director of Stoxx – a joint venture between Deutsche Börse, Dow Jones Indexes and SWX Swiss Exchange, on April 15 2004.

Hamich left Stoxx on July 6, and his contract with the company expired on September 30. He has not taken up a new position, but is looking for employment in London or New York in the index or ETF sector, where he can use his experience to ‘add value’.

Stoxx will not replace Hamich. Instead, his responsibilities will be assumed by the board of directors, says a spokeswoman for the index provider.
