Joshi and de Vitry expand their roles at BarCap
Joshi, previously head of equity derivatives, has now taken on responsibility for all equity-linked products at Barclays Capital, overseeing the firm's activities in equity derivatives, fund-linked derivatives and convertible bonds. He joined Barclays Capital in November 2003 to help develop the firm's equity unit. He is involved in expanding the firm's presence in Asia in the fund solutions market, and building the firm's convertible bond and corporate equity derivatives business in the US.
Joshi reports to Jerry del Missier, president of Barclays Capital, and joins the global markets management group. He was also recently appointed to the board of Isda.
Meanwhile, Benoit de Vitry was appointed head of global markets trading, Europe, in addition to his role as global head of commodities, emerging markets and quantitative analytics. He will directly oversee those trading businesses that do not have a global markets management committee member in UK or Europe. He will also work with the global heads in running the bank's regional businesses.
Both Joshi’s and de Vitry’s promotions were effective from early March.
