Ritossa takes over as Barclays Capital forex head

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of the UK's Barclays, has hired Ivan Ritossa as global head of foreign exchange. He joins from Lehman Brothers, where he gained a strong reputation for building up the Wall Street firm's forex operations during the past two years.

Ritossa will report to Jerry del Missier, Barclays Capital's global head of rates. He will oversee the bank's forwards, options and spot forex activities."Having a strong presence in the forex markets is central to Barclays Capital's strategy," said del Missier.Ritossa previously worked at Bankers Trust, where he managed foreign exchange teams in Sydney, Singaporeand London during his 16-year tenure.
