PNC to be king of US regional banks after BBVA tie-up

Merger unlikely to tip PNC into too-big-to-fail category

Pittsburgh-based PNC Bank will see its assets grow by roughly one-fifth and rival US Bancorp as the largest non-systemic US bank following its takeover of BBVA USA Bancshares.
