Travelers' capital hits three-year high

Lower level of statutory deductions boost year-end surplus

US insurance giant Travelers posted a $326 million (2%) increase in statutory capital through 2018 to $20.8 billion, its highest level since the third quarter of 2015.

End-2018 deductions totaled $2.1 billion, down $1.2
