Energy firms urge EC to ease Emir clearing rules

European Union energy firms worried about the looming impact of new rules that could require them to clear all their over-the-counter derivatives trades starting in December 2018 are eagerly anticipating the results of a review being carried out by the European Commission (EC), which they hope will rein in the most burdensome aspects of the regulation.
