A lack of adequate conflict resolution procedures at Paradigm Capital Management led to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) bringing its first whistleblower retaliation case, one legal expert has said.

The case saw Paradigm Capital, along with owner Candace King Weir, fined $2.2 million for retaliating against an employee who blew the whistle on tax avoidance transactions that Paradigm
