Global work needed on swap data – US Treasury official

FSB is working with CFTC to clean and standardise derivatives data, and more international co-operation will be needed, says Patricia Mosser

Regulators are at risk of learning nothing from the masses of data now being gathered on derivatives markets, according to a US Treasury official. Patricia Mosser, deputy director of the Office of Financial Research (OFR) – a unit of the US Treasury set up to measure systemic risks – said the help of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) will be needed if global regulators are to avoid collecting
