Capital-at-risk leveraged return notes were the most popular products by notional in the US in May. These notes allow leveraged participation in the underlying asset (usually up to a cap) while risking a loss to capital, and accounted for just over two-thirds of public issuance registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for the month.
