1,500 hedge funds sign up for MSCI hedge fund indices
indices allow improved comparisons of risk and performance
MSCI has signed up over 1,500 hedge funds to participate in its hedge fund indices and database, up from 700 when it launched in July.
The index provider has created more than 60 hedge fund indices since introducing its product, with 150 indices calculated on a monthly basis.
MSCI provides equal weighted indices at four levels of aggregation plus asset weighted indices at two levels of aggregation
