Basel III commitment in question, says ex-committee member
The ongoing crisis in Europe is casting doubt over Basel III framework, says a former Basel Committee member
International commitment to the Basel III capital rules is becoming uncertain, a former member of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has warned.
"In our meetings last year, we were all committed to deliver and to go ahead," says Rudi Bonte, special representative for banking supervision at the National Bank of Belgium and a member of the Basel Committee from 1999 until March last year.
