Barclays launches volatility ETN in Japan

Barclays Bank has listed a volatility exchange-traded note linked to the S&P Vix Short-Term Futures Index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange

ETN gives Japanese investors access to short-term volatility

Barclays Bank's latest exchange-traded note (ETN) is the tenth it has listed in the Japanese market through its iPath exchange-traded product (ETP) platform. The note provides exposure to volatility for investors who actively trade or seek to hedge their portfolios.

Japan's first ETNs, which were also the first foreign securities to be listed in the country, were launched in two phases in August
