SPA predicts 40% US market rise for 2006

The New York-based Structured Products Association (SPA) is preparing its final assessment of the business year. And according to its chairman, Keith Strycula, it looks like 2006 sales figures will be 40% above 2005 figures.

Structured product sales for the US stood at $48.7 billion at the end of 2005, the SPA estimates, and the association predicts that this figure will rise to around $70 billion by the end of 2006.

According to a BNP Paribas report released earlier this year the US retail market reached $60 billion in 2005, while Canada had a $10 billion market.
