Germany's virtually non-existent gas market has been given a shot in the arm by the country's network regulator, which has banned anti-competitive grid access contracts. Could this be the start of a success story, asks Oliver Holtaway
The German network regulator (BnetzA) has come out in support of new entrants to the German gas market, changing pipeline access rules in a move that could finally kick-start genuine competition. All existing pipeline access contracts must be adapted to fit the new system by October 1, 2007.
