Stimulus targets US transmission issues
Obama's stimulus plan will put key infrastructure in place to support the continued growth of renewable energy in the US, finds Pauline McCallion
Measures included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 to address the US electricity transmission system have been welcomed by the renewable energy sector as imperative to encouraging the future growth of clean energy.
The act, signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009 includes $6bn to support loan guarantees for renewable energy and electric transmission technologies
