Credit ratings newcomer hires ex-S&P president

Credit rating agency Rapid Ratings adds Kathleen Corbet to its board in a push to increase awareness of its rating system which measures financial health rather than creditworthiness

Regulatory scrutiny of the main credit rating agencies is increasing over concerns that the 'issuer pays' model risks a conflict of interest. Rapid Ratings International, which operates a 'subscriber pays' model, claims to offer an alternative, and has recently won influential support from a former senior executive at Standard & Poor's.
