Film entertainment financing has shown rapid growth since its emergence in the late 1990s, with many US investors quick to team up with producers and studios in co-financing agreements. The deals securitise distribution costs and proceeds over a portfolio, or slate, of productions. Dresdner Kleinwort is at the forefront of the market, having committed $4 billion to it since 1998.
