S&P clampdown on US liabilities

Standard and Poor’s has placed 13 US companies on negative outlook owing to their unfunded post-retirement benefit liabilities. The move was mainly prompted by the companies’ year-end disclosures, which shed light on the extent of their unfunded liabilities.
