Jefferies recruit ex-Lehman banker in derivative sales

Jefferies and Company, the New York-based investment bank, has appointed Jason Roelke as managing director and head of derivative sales.

Roelke will focus on selling equity derivatives including listed options, exchange traded funds, and over the counter options and swaps. He will also be responsible for expanding Jeffries’ equity product operations.

Roelke joins the company from Lehman Brothers, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on September 15. Most recently, he was senior vice president in liquid market sales, specialising in equity derivatives. Roelke joined Lehman in 2002 from Citigroup.
