The figures are as stark as the reality. More than 40 million people in the world have HIV/Aids. The death toll could reach 100 million by 2020. More than 25 million children under the age of 15 will lose one or both parents due to Aids by 2010. Over half the world’s HIV/Aids carriers live in Africa, and every day 8,000 new infections are detected.
