US releases in-depth results of pandemic outbreak exercise

WASHINGTON, DC - The US financial services sector is better equipped for a pandemic outbreak than was first feared. This is according to in-depth results released by supervisors on last year's government-sponsored sector-wide pandemic flu simulation.

The exercise, conducted between September 24 and October 12 2007, is by far the largest pandemic exercise held for the financial services sector - with more than 2,700 organisations represented.

The simulation tested industry functionality coping with a 49% absentee rate across the US. Elaborating on the initial results released last October, the results include industry responses to business
