Gait marches towards greater security

NEW YORK - A new set of guidelines that promise to provide auditors, managers and IT teams with greater precision and electronic security during the audit process has been unveiled by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

The Guide to the Assessment of IT General Controls Scope Based on Risk (Gait) is the culmination of an 18-month process to establish a single model for identifying IT general controls common to the diverse IT infrastructures found across financial services firms.
