Project Boat chooses FIX for data collection

LONDON – Project Boat officials have outlined plans to use the FIX protocol for collecting Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Mifid)-related transparency data.

The Cinnober TRADExpress Trading System chosen to support the initiative will use version 4.4 of FIX to collect inbound quotes and trades. It employs "tags that are relevant for trade reporting", says Will Meldrum, managing director of Markit Group, Project Boat's commercial partner. "The API specifications are already available."
