MiFID documents release delayed as FSA waits on EU

LONDON – The UK Financial Services Authority's timetable for the release of documents related to the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive has slipped because of the delay at the EU level in the release of the Level 2 text.

The FSA currently plans to publish a consultation paper in the second quarter on systems and controls, setting out a single body of requirements in this area arising from both the CRD and MiFID.

Another consultation paper in the third quarter will cover provisions on market transparency, transaction reporting, authorisation and permissions, and enforcement and co-operation – but excluding conduct
