Credit derivatives are starting to develop in Asia’s local currency markets, and while international banks are keen to hop on the train, they admit that there isn’t likely to be an explosion in the medium term. Mia Trinephi reports

Asian investors’ continued quest for higher returns is encouraging the development of new products in the region. With interest rates stuck at historical lows, structured notes have been very popular with Asian investors in the past year, with many buyers ready to take on more risk to receive higher returns.
