BNP makes European fixed-income hires

French banking group BNP Paribas has announced two appointments in its fixed-income business servicing German, Austrian and Swiss corporates.

Mike Meiss joins the bank as a senior derivatives marketer with coverage of German and Austrian corporates. Meiss will report to Andrew Frith, head of north European derivatives marketing. His last job was as a derivatives marketer for JP Morgan in the same region. He has also worked for CSFB and Dresdner Bank.

Peter Michel has been hired as head of debt capital markets for corporate clients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He will report to Brian Lazell, head of corporate debt capital markets. He comes from Nomura, where he was responsible for the origination of all bond, securitisation, derivatives and real-estate related products in Germany and Switzerland.
